Ovens here are not common. The East Asian people don't really do a lot of baking or cooking in their oven. It's a lot of stovetop stir-frying veggies and meats and using their rice cookers to make the rice. Ovens are just not the norm.
So because ovens aren't often used, the kind they sell are pretty small and they just sit on the counter. They are not the normal big-sized-sit-on-the-floor-underneath-your-four-burner-stovetop-oven. (My stovetop by the way has two burners and one is broken right now so that's been really fun, but that's not what this post is about.)
So with my tiny oven, I can only bake a few cookies a time, a 9x13 pan doesn't fit and the oven doesn't even cook evenly so I'm constantly rotating my baked goods around. I've certainly learned to get creative and adjust to not only Celsius baking temperatures but just all of the planning it takes to bake what you need to bake in an oven the size of a microwave.
Get the picture now? :) hehe. Well here's some actual ones to help you understand:
nine cookies at a time!
oven the size of my microwave
the finished product! they did turn out pretty tasty if you ask me :)
